Martin and Grace had just bought their farm also. The man that sold his farm to Martin boasted to the neighbors, "I'll get the farm back! He'll never get it paid for!"
Martin proved him wrong and how! Martin not only paid for his farm ahead of time, but he was able to live a comfortable life, and save for his retirement.
Martin was one of the best farmers in the Yellowstone Valley, and also a very good manager. If more people would have taken a lesson from Martin, the word bankruptcy would not be in our vocabulary.
Martin and I always saw "eye to eye" on current events. We shared our happiness, and our sorrows together.
Martin was an asset to the community. Anything asked of him, he was there to help.
