One of the best memories of life with Martin was all of us getting in the Model-T car and going to church every Sunday. Grandma came home with us for chicken dinner and a few games of cards. Martin will always be part of my life.

![]() | The one thing that I always got a kick out of was that Martin and Bill could talk for hours when they got together. They would talk for hours and hours over the phone. I've never seen two men who could do so much farming that way.

| When I was young, I wished I would marry someone just like him. He seemed perfect to me. At family gatherings later in life we loved to have him there. He remembered so much about our childhood -- the good and bad times. He helped Charlie in many ways, through school and his childhood days at home. One of our last goodbyes he gave me a big hug and told me he loved me. The day before he died, he squeezed my hand. How I treasure these moments. How lucky I felt to have Martin for a brother. I'll never forget you.
